Absolutely amazing It is a privilege to read his thoughts and his life as a Navy Seal, and even before he joined the forces all written from his heart He was dedicated to his country and his family and nothing would stand in his way to protect and serve the people he loved. This book grasps you from the the start and involves you in the life of a Texas cowboy that wanted be in the army or the navy but he just needed to do something He tells you every little detail that you would never of thought of about the Seals, but only what he is allowed of course, after all there are secrets in every war. I have never liked an autobiography before and I would never have gone past the first 50 pages, but with this book, it just pulls you in and spits you out in pieces Is The Deadliest American Sniper Ever, Called The Devil By The Enemies He Hunted And The Legend By His Navy SEAL Brothers FromTo , US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle Recorded The Most Career Sniper Kills In United States Military History The Pentagon Has Officially Confirmed ThanOf Kyles Kills The Previous American Record Was, But It Has Declined To Verify The Astonishing Total Number For This Book Iraqi Insurgents Feared Kyle So Much ☆ American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U. S. Military History Ê Really enjoyable autobiography, contributions from his wife add to the understanding of the impact on family of all nations warriors Cultural differences make it less than easy to get past the archetypal yee ha Americanisms to reach the man himself, and the propensity for violence outside of duty is hard to agree with but understandable, I suppose Altogether an absorbing read, I need to see the film now to see if it measures up. As you read this book, you can imagine Chris sitting across from you, relating his story his loyality, his experience, his courage whilst serving as a SEAL The closing chapters are particulary poignant they explain the difficulties of transition from the war front to the normalcy of being stateside right up to Chris being murdered and his funeral I only got to know Chris Kyle through this book but felt a loss of a close friend having finished the final chapter This autobiography has made a lasting impact on me as it will to anyone else who reads it. This book is without doubt the very best that you could read about the feelings of a sniper When you start to read ,it draws you in so much that you really feel that you are the actual man pulling the trigger A really good read whilst on a long journey or when you have a couple of hours to spare, because once you start reading you simply can t put it down
I read the book after seeing the film. This was an interesting autobiography of a soldier in a thankless and thoughtless war Chris tried to be as honest as he could with his work and his relationships He certainly doesn t glorify the war but at times seem to overdo the justification of it there are really sad casualties of indigenous people who have very little control over their lives There were I felt repetitious scenarios and justifications making the reading process tedious But in the main I enjoyed reading it with a tinge of sadness for his family, the war he was involved in and for the hero himself. Tragic that a true hero should be taken in such circumstances The book is a worthy legacy, fascinating throughout and an interesting insight into the thoughts of his wife, the unsung hero Well worth reading.
